I'm in my own room today

Word of the week: Spring Break. It's self-explanatory.

Here I am, at home once again. I was preparing myself for a mild, somewhat dull spring break with many friends gone on trips and little planned with my family. Oh no no no. This is not the way things must go. So far, many a thing has happened while I've been home.

Well, I'll back up a little bit.

First off, they had scones in the Great Hall this week. I am a fan. Very little sleep also occurred this week. So did two hard tests, both of which were made 10x harder because of the previous sentence. Lisa and I discussed new ways of arranging the room since it ends up we have to stay there again next year and we want, no, NEED a couch.

And then packing always has this way of taking longer than you expect it to.

I met up with Morgan when I dropped dear Beaulah off at Kurt's house in Knoxville so that he could cure all of her ailments. He is the good car doctor. Then she and I went to the Helton's house to pick up Ashley and Brandon's baby. It was weird because I haven't been to that house since the breakup, and though it felt completely different, it also felt like I'd never left.

When I got home, it was just me and mom. We whiled away the evening swooning over Mr. Darcy in the new Pride and Prejudice, because this is what we do.

We took a family day in the mountains on Saturday, and there was plenty of snow to play in. Daniel found a small ice cave and he and I wrestled on the ice--I won, of course. And I very much enjoyed spending time with my family, even though it was really cold. As Daniel and Audrey have gotten older, the three of us have gotten closer. I can hug my brother whenever I want and it's not weird. Afterwards, I spent over three hours on the computer setting up a facebook group and blog for the Uganda trip. My. poor. eyes.

Mimi came today! Mimi = grandmother. She's quite an interesting lady. Then I wore a super-cute outfit, which always makes a day go better. All of us ate together in the hospital cafeteria before taking [another] tour of the hospital, because my father is a doctor and this is what we do. Tonight, I was finally reunited with two of my closest homeschool friends, Sarah and Laurie, who I haven't spent time with since their weddings. Back in the day, we called ourselves "The Troubles", with Trouble, Double Trouble (me!), and Triple Trouble. We were the coolest kids ever. It was good to see them, though, especially since Laurie's sister Jenny just passed away a few weeks ago. I've missed them so.

Then I wrote some lean-mean thank you notes for my supporters, and now I'm having hand cramps.

Thoughts:
1) I think my dog and cat have forgotten who I am.
2) I look like a stuffed chicken, and feel like one.
3) I want to ride a bike.
4) Demetri Martin is really funny.
5) I miss my roommate. Kind of.
6) The laundry STILL needs to get done.
7) I am car-less until, like, Wednesday-ish. I hate this.
8) I want to write with sidewalk chalk.
9) I think it's good that Dusty and I are able to talk now normally and be nice to each other...or at least, that I now have the capacity to be nice to him.
10) I am getting SUPER STOKED about Uganda!
11) Mail is really fun to get.
12) I love my mother because she got a new phone just so that she could text me.

Excellent

Word of the day: snowballs. This is really more about the weather.

Cool other word that I discovered today: exegete. This is someone skilled in exegesis---also known as our chapel speaker this week.

And one more word that I have used a lot lately: excellent.

School was out today for snow. This equals no practical service for Laura Love. Excellent. I went back to sleep for a while, which was also excellent. I had the strangest dream last night too, and it was one of those dreams that I would wake up and then go back to when I fell asleep again. In this dream, I owned a baby rabbit named Jewel and kept it in my dorm room. This baby rabbit was super-cute and cuddly. She bounced around the room and sort of talked to me, in her own way, and I loved her as my own child. She kind of changed shape and color though, because soon she became a white rabbit. But I didn't care because she was my baby. Anyway, the dream skipped a year ahead. I was in a Chinese restaurant with a group of my friends, searching frantically for Jewel because the Chinese had stolen her and I was sure they were going to put her in a soup. This was the sketchiest Chinese restaurant in the world. Soon, however, we found her darting in and out of tables. She was now big and brown. I took her and hid her at a resort, where she grew into a person. Then she was gone. I began living at this resort with a group of friends, and someone (I didn't know who) was trying to find me and kill me. I hid inside the resort, which sort of looked like hell, but then I got lost in it and could never find my way back to my friends, or my baby Jewel.

The end.

I then woke up and realized that I had intense Tech for Educators homework that was due at 1. It was a lesson plan for first graders on plants, and I think I did a heck of a good job. The awesome picture that I used on my first slide:

On second thought, I may fail the project for scaring the children.

And there was a lot of snow today. Carissa, Nicole, and I had a snowball fight with the boys in the parking lot from their window.

Last Thursday was not so excellent. Though bio lab was interesting...sort of...(watching people swab DNA out of their cheeks is always entertaining), the Uganda team was also told that there was a possibility of no trip due to unexpected circumstances. I was sleep deprived, so I couldn't really process this. Then, that afternoon when babysitting, Anna began throwing fits as so on as she got home and...well...fits just aren't pleasant at all. My verse of the day, however, was Isaiah 48:17, which says:

"This is what the LORD says--your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: 'I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.'"

I knew that He would do what was best for me. And I was ok with that.

On Sunday, then, we had another team meeting, and found that God works things out (who knew??). The interns are still going to Mbarara, but the rest of the team is going to the capital city, Kampala, to do other work. And I found out something else. We're going to be taking MOTORCYCLE CABS around the city while we're there. Yeah, part of my trip money is going towards a new helmet.

I did a lot of babysitting this weekend as well. Five children on Friday, fifty on Saturday. Yeah, you heard me. FIFTY. The Friday night children were good. We watched movies and the little girls texted people with my phone, which is hilarious because neither of them can read. Oh, and the little boys can quote Brian Reagan. The nine-year-old has already read Lord of the Rings and a bunch of books I read in high school. I was fans of them immediately. Saturday was scary. I had to make sure 40-50 kids at a church picnic didn't kill each other on the playground, and I did it by myself. This basically makes me a superhero. Other than a busted lip, everyone was ok.

That night, I helped kidnap Christina for her birthday. Amy and I did it by putting a pillowcase over Christina's head and then pretending to be Russian so she wouldn't guess our identities. We kept this up for an hour as I pretended to be a man, Amy pretended to be my first wife, and Christina was to be my second. Regardless of what Christina says about carsickness or bad accents, I believe that Amy and I make excellent kidnappers. I'll put of pictures later when Lisa lets me back in the room. Maybe.

Then I went with the hall to see Leap Year (again!) and we spent a good hour and a half mooning over Irish men (again!). Excellent.

Alyssa and I watched Quest for Camelot on Sunday. I. LOVE. THAT. MOVIE.

Our hall just watched 500 Days of Summer, which is about a relationship that goes wrong. I also loved this movie, partly because I felt like I could connect with it a little. Except that my movie would be called 1,262 Days of---anyway…

I survive off of peanut butter, which I just ate a lot of a few minutes ago. This could be a very bad thing. Every time I babysit and the parents let me have food, I go for the peanut butter. Not a lot, but a little bit. Note to parents: I am a good babysitter, but you should hide your peanut butter. And I broke lent. I feel kind of bad, but I was hungry and there was food. More than one time.

I just found out an interesting fact. There are actual seeds out there called “rapeseeds”. If I was a seed, I would not want to have this reputation.

Spring Break is in three days. Excellent.

Song of the day: This Too Shall Pass by OK Go. It has two excellent music videos.

Sparkly Tattoos

Word of the day: free. As in free food, which I have had a lot of in the last few days.

Sunday, Lisa shared her chicken salad with me for free. Well, I mean, I did de-meat the chicken which was uber-gross, so I guess I maybe-sorta deserved it.Wow, I just used three hyphens in one sentence. Then yesterday was free pizza & ice cream cake at Mellow Mushroom, so I had half a medium pizza and roughly three pieces of delicious ice cream cake (yeah, we worked the system on that one. By the third piece it was going something like this-- Ice cream lady: "Your waitress sent you up here??" Diana (in lying man-voice): "Um, yeah..."). Then tonight was free pancake night at Ihop, so guess where the Fritz went for dinner.

We have done a lot of growing things in water here lately. Lisa recently decided that we should grow her grow-a-boyfriend and he's about five inches tall now. Multiply that by about fifteen and you have the ideal boyfriend. Then Laura Main decided that it would also be a good idea to grow her little sponge-in-a-pill creatures, so we now have lots of tiny sponge farm animals and monsters that were grown in water. Lovely.

This is Dick, our boyfriend in a bottle.

Guys, can we go to the beach? I want to go right now.

This weekend was gorgeous. I spent the majority of it out on the veranda with a pair of Morpheus-sunglasses on. I read almost the entirety of The With of Blackbird Pond on Saturday. It is one of the most intense fifth-grade books ever. Unfortunately, some boys came out on the veranda, meaning that I had to go inside and put on more clothes... :( Sunday, however, I was prepared and got to stay outside, well-clad in some laid back trailer trash attire (as Lisa called it). But nobody got any homework because we were busy playing Boobsquare and giving the boys sparkly tattoos. Speaking of which, I got a lovely tattoo this weekend...

Yes, that is a koi fish. On my forehead. And I look like a creeper.

Hold on. Alyssa just came in....

Ok, now she's gone. Anyways, we also had our fill of Jonathan Taylor Thomas this weekend by watching Tom and Huck. I don't know how I missed out on this man-crush back in my pre-teen years, but I am now sad that I did.

Recently, CHOW class has been less interesting because I've actually been paying attention for fear that I will do as badly on my next test as I did on this one. But on Monday I was pleasantly surprised when some guy in the row over was examining himself in a webcam. Yeah, he had his webcam on and was looking at himself. During class. TOOL.

Ends up there's a guy in my Doctrine class named Jacob SNUGGS. I can't tell you how excited I was when I found out his last name was SNUGGS---like SNUGGIE. I would totally SNUGGLE with him if he didn't already have a girlfriend.

Back in second grade, I wrote an amazing piece of literature.

The girls on my hall are very appreciative of my sharing this piece of literature with them. Here is a glimpse of the inside:

Best book in the history of EVER.

Lessons to learn from Biology:
  • I'm not gonna die of prostate cancer
  • Peanut butter is bad
  • I should have lots of kids asap to decrease my chances of getting breast cancer
  • God is really cool
I want a puppy.

Friday was awesome. Molly, Lyssie, Lisa, Laura, and I went down the mountain for sushi and fun things. I love this picture:

My roommate is awesome. Yes, she made that face on purpose.

That night, I watched Thumbelina and The Secret of Nimh with Emma and Bonnie. Thumbelina is one of my favorite movies ever and The Secret of Nimh is TERRIFYING. And it's a cartoon kids movie!

Things I would like to do right now: color a picture, jump on a trampoline, eat a bowl of ice cream, have a fairy magically do my laundry for me, and cuddle.

Rousseau said that the best way to be happy is to narrow the gap between desire and power. In other words, desire what you are capable of getting. This is something I've had to teach myself more in the aftermath of Valentine's Day. Hey, there isn't a man in my life right now like there was this time last year, but there probably will be someday, and I should look at what I've got going now, which is awesome. This is God teaching me contentment. And guess what? In two days, I will have been single for eight months! It's just a little difficult still sometimes, even after eight months. Especially when the Covenant message is constantly MARRY MARRY MARRY. Stop this! Can I be nine again and just be content with having a crush on the red power ranger?!

Scones and Sleepiness

Word of the day: expatiate. Let me expatiate this word for you. It means to expand, or wander at length. I thought it was a pretty darn cool word. It just SOUNDS vast.

Lent starts today. I'm not really sure why, but as soon as I think of lent, I imagine lentils, which go in soup. But that really has nothing to do with Lent, except that there is an absence of lentils in Lent. Well, for me specifically, an absence of all foods after 9 pm. And now that I have restricted myself in this way, I am automatically VERY hungry right now. Which is why I will now distract myself by expatiating on my life.

College students do this thing where they stay up insanely late the night before a test. I have done this twice in less than a week, both last night and last Thursday night. I did well on last week's tests, but not so much on the CHOW test today (it's because I spend my class periods observing all the interesting people in my class and do all the readings the night before!). After a while, Locke and Hobbes and all those blokes start to sound very alike. However, I have decided that Blaise Pascal is the man! But, because Lisa took the CHOW book, I can't quote him here. In any case, 4 1/2 hours of sleep in one night is insufficient for anybody.

Last night the hall was INSANE, which is the reason I got so little sleep. I don't even know what was so funny! We just kept stealing each other's stuff, at one point Lisa's light was going on and off because Alyssa stole the clicker, Brian Peppers disappeared, there was underwear on Laura Main's door, and she was in a tussle on the floor over hair chopsticks. Oh, and there was a Lauralisa dance party thrown in there, behind a locked door right before quiet hours. The insanity continued today, as well, as is shown by this photo:

Yes, that is Laura Main inside of a garbage bag. After this, we dragged her up and down the hall yelling, "Christmas present!"

It's not a wonder that things never get done. But these kinds of things are far more interesting.

Friday, I should have listened to my mother, who is full of much good advice and wisdom. Let me expatiate. She told me not to drive to Atlanta because of snow, but I did anyway. It was one of the scariest drives of my life, I'm not going to lie. This was not helped by the fact that had only had 4 1/2 hours of sleep the night before, two tests that morning, and was full of caffeine. Honestly, the snow was definitely drivable, but I was paranoid.

However, I did have a fun weekend. Grace and I made scones, had sushi, and ate amazing Spanish food and ice cream and...wait, we did do stuff other than food, I promise! We watched the whole first season of Big Bang Theory, which is expatiatingly (that isn't really a word, I just want to throw it in) HIlarious. We went shopping and got amazingly cheap skirts. And yes, I did get to meet lots of new people, proving that my sweet, nerdy cousin actually does have many friends, however nerdy they may also be--I mean, they are all from Georgia Tech, after all. :p I'm only judging them because their smartness gives me an inferiority complex...just let me play with play-do and leave you guys to the math, mmk?

Oh, hey, here's a picture from when Morgan and I ate tremendous amounts of brownie batter:

Valentine's Day was alright this year. To be honest, it didn't manage to top last year's Valentine's, even though we still had a good time. I suppose there are some things I'm not used to doing single, and I was very cranky on this February 14th. However, we still had a chocolate fountain and I did snuggle with my darling Jacob Snuggie while watching Ever After, which is an excellent film. Oh, and we did play hallway frisbee and laughed til we fell on the floor. Come to think of it, Valentine's wasn't half bad....

School was out on Monday, therefore we watched Willow and I knitted. Willow is a RIDICULOUS movie. I will expatiate on it no more.

My Uganda support letters are going out tomorrow! I can't tell you how much trouble I've gone to putting those puppies together, but I suppose it's worth it just to tell them what God will be doing in my life this summer. I'm getting super stoked. I watched the Invisible Children documentary last night, and my heart was absolutely pulled. I just hope I can minister to lots of children in Uganda.

I have decided that I want to memorize Romans 8, or at least put it up in the shower to study. Maybe I should check this with my roommate and suitemates...after all, it is also their shower...

One more photo, for fun. This is what Britney and I do when chapel goes too long--we make finger dinosaurs:

It's ok, our speaker wasn't particularly interesting that day anyway.

You know what's awesome? When Starbucks guys give you free scones. And getting emails from friends in Ukraine. And eating peanut butter. And listening to the same great song over and over again. Annnnd....my life. Thank you, Lord.

Song of the day: whatever Lisa kept playing over and over. If you wish to know, you can ask her to expatiate.

Trigwater

Word of the day: behoove. I heard this word yesterday, and it has fascinated me since. It sounds like one of those words that would mean something terrible (especially to an animal with hooves...or maybe that's "dehoove"..haha cheesy joke..), but it really means "to be necessary, proper, or advantageous for you". Awesome. It behooves me to have learned this word.

You know what behooves my day? Scones in the Great Hall. They are the best things the Great Hall makes, this is no lie. And a blueberry scone in the morning is better than cake for breakfast. Or maybe it's the same thing.

I like Icees a lot. Dusty and I used to joke that when I'm a crazy pregnant lady, that's what I'm going to crave 24/7. So I had my first one in months on Sunday, and I realized once again why I love them so much. Except this time I had a wee one--it was about five sips deep, but still worth every penny of the 79 cents I paid for it!

Along with this Icee came Adventures in Odessey and Brian Regan jokes on my ipod. The first half of my drive, I felt my character rapidly improving and the last half I slowly felt it melting back away as I laughed my guts out. "BRIOBRANANININJANANAN!!" *anyways*

At the bottom the mountain, I noticed that Beaulah was making terrible noises. Now, Beaulah's a strong gal--thirteen years old. Hearing her make noises is never a happy ordeal. Because I was so concerned for her happiness and well-being, I woke up before the crack of dawn on the Day of Prayer to take her to Maxi Auto at the bottom of the mountain. That was an interesting experience. First of all, it took them an hour to get her in the garage, even though I was the second person to show up there. Then they couldn't identify the noise and made me come listen (Beaulah was probably just embarrassed). Then they came out and told me a million and one things were wrong and it would cost me over $700--including my headlights, which are fine! I was like umm.....no? So I texted Kurt, who assured me that only one thing needed to be done. The guy in the waiting room next to me was also telling me not to let them rip me off. So I got it down to $330 for the major problem to get fixed (only $88 of that was the actual part...). Then they tell me they don't have the part. Then halfway up the mountain, they call and say they have it. Poor Beaulah is ready to die of embarrassment at this point. Then they say they'll call me when she's done. Then they don't, I had to call right before they closed and they were like "oh yeah, we finished that." Now I'm just hoping they put it in right!....Note to self: get Kurt to take care of all my car problems. Always.

Let's just hope Beaulah doesn't die on the way to Atlanta to visit Grace this weekend.

Monday babysitting was awesome. We made smoothies, watched Disney channel, played with a puppy, and had an Owl City dance party. Their mom actuallly walked in the door as I was belting out Whatcha Say and I was semi-embarrassed.

Today has been interesting. 1) I am majorly sleep-deprived. 2) There are a lot things to do. 3) The 10th of the month is never a great day anyway. It's a reminder of things I like to push out of my mind.

I reread a book from childhood called Trigwater Did It. This is an excellent book. Arnie Goodsmile has a giant green man-lizard friend named Trigwater, and only he can see him. However, he blames everything on Trigwater. I got sad when I read this book because I too, would love to have an imaginary friend named Trigwater with whom I can play and on whom I can blame all my misbehavior. Here is the book:

So, I like my Biology class. But sometimes it's dark, I'm tired, and my brain goes other places. For example, Dr. Morris started talking about toxins in the Tennessee and my mind immediately went to Coolidge park. There, in Coolidge park, I was wearing a dress. Owl city was playing. There were fireflies everywhere. Then there was this boy...6'5", honey blonde hair, huge smile, and tremendous dancing skills. And we were dancing, around and around, bare feet, full moon, soft grass--then BAM! Britney's in my face, upset that we didn't have time to talk about cancer in class.

Speaking of boys, I have made several observations in the last few days. Covenant boys are their own species. For example, on Monday, blonde earring boy from CHOW class was internet shopping for brightly colored pants while we were talking about Voltairre. And today, all the basketball players came in dressed in baggy black with hoods. They were SCARY. Then as a boy was giving a presentation in Doctrine, I began to examine him and make a list of all the qualities of a typical Founders boy, because he was one. To be a typical Founders boy, you must:
  • own one pair of black, square glasses, several pairs of brightly colored pants (one of them must be manpris), one pair of tiny shorts, one murse (man-purse) and lots of plaid scarves
  • have hair at least three inches long
  • walk around in bare feet or really weird shoes.
  • have a cocky facial expression with chin slightly upturned
  • drink smartwater
  • have pierced ears
  • not be exceedingly tall (your head may hit the ceiling)
  • be clean shaven
My CHOW notes from Monday: BRIGHT RED PANTS!!!

Note to self: coffee tastes good for about thirty minutes and then you spend the rest of the day thinking about how your mouth tastes like death and how your teeth are slowly turning yellow.

Today in chapel, we read "The Giving Tree". It is one of the saddest books in the whole world.

Assassins has put the entire campus in an uproar. I'm about ready to smack some of my paranoid friends (just kidding Amy!).

Valentine's Day is coming up. As a rule, all of my holidays until June must one-up the three holidays before them. Last year, I got m&ms with my name on them and watched P.S. I Love You for Valentine's day. This year, I plan to consume my weight in chocolate while snuggling with Jacob and laughing my butt off at some cheesy romantic comedy with the girls on my hall. All this after I go to a Georgia Tech tango birthday party with Grace. This is all part of my new "year of singlehood". I didn't eat most of those m&ms anyway.

I'm relentlessly tired. I'm going to go take a Benadryl and snuggle with Trigwater.

Song of the day numero uno: White Horse
Song of the day numero dos: Shake Your Pom Pom.
Two very different songs.

Word of the day: weirdos. This is my family.

My sister is sitting next to me, talking with her mouth closed. She looks like a bloated walrus.

Now she has a purple spoon in her mouth---oh wait, she's talking to herself again.

I am home. Home is nice, but...(Audrey is calling me a jerk now inside her mouth, I think...) I have a hard time thinking about the two papers that are due on Monday. Ew.

Thursday, Anna decided to have Patton over. He's a crazy six-year-old kid with rock-awesome spy glasses that have mirrors in them so you can see who's behind you! This kid was like ADHD on speed. It was great! Whenever I came in the room, he went ninja on me. I will include a photo.

Anna is standing behind him being creepy. After this photo, we had several dance parties and spy games. I got hit with a slinky a few times.

Sooo....I turned in my Uganda application and first payment on Thursday. I think all systems are go! Now, I just need money....

Red-headed girl got a haircut! I was shocked...I looked at the back of her head and thought, "Who's the new----oh WAIT! She looks NORMAL!" Thankfully, it was a foggy day, so sunglasses-cool-redneck-duck-head boy was wearing neither a hat nor creepy sunglasses. CHOW was a normal class for once. Sort of. And Douchy proved he's smart. I spied on his homework, and it was well over half a page, more than the requirement. He's earned a couple attractive points.

Now my sister's giving me the number of her crush. Oh dear.

Dear John last night was a fail. All sold out, so Sarah and Rachel and I went to Starbucks instead.
Then Morgan came over and we spent the night eating brownies and sitting on the computer. I believe I ate the equivalent of, UM, 10 brownies, and I didn't even have a stomach ache afterwards! I would include a picture, but I couldn't upload any last night.

I have a dilemma for what to do next weekend. I can stay at Covenant and participate in Valentine's Day activities, or I can go to a tango party at Georgia Tech with Grace, where the ratio of men to women is....a lot more men than women. Basically the reverse of Covenant. *sigh* Decisions, decisions...Boys at Tech like math, which takes away about five attractive points, but they are also new and exciting, adding about ten attractive points. I'll continue deliberation.

I spent the afternoon cleaning chairs with mom and dad. My life is really exciting.

Mom's relapse is getting worse. That hurts.

Do mine ears deceive me?!?! It's quesadilla time!

Song of the day: Um.....I don't have one. Let's just say Demetri Martin, who is a lot funnier by 4 am.

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

I realize it has been a long time since I last posted a blog. Amy just expressed her angst over having nothing to read, and I suddenly realized that I have a huge hole in my soul because of my lack of blogging.

Oh! N'sync song!

So here we go, phrase of last week: "lack tose and tolerant". Also known as a condition in which you lack your necessary tose and are tolerant of everything--except milk.

Word of this week: ice. But everyone who lives on the mountain should know this.

Oh! The Soggy Bottom Boys...? Downloading other people's songs can be interesting...especially when you put your ipod on shuffle....the man is yodeling....song change time...

ANNOUNCEMENT!

I finally found out where God wants me to go this summer----you ready? UGANDA! All my friends know this already, but I felt that I should double announce it. Of course, I have to put my application in, but since it's through Covenant, I'm pretty sure all you have to do it sign up. It's a ten-week internship. The first week is living with a Ugandan family and the rest of it is working in a Ugandan school. I know, it sounds scary. I hadn't really given thought to Africa, at least not for this summer. But now I'm really excited. And ten weeks will give me the opportunity to go through the stages of culture shock for better missions experience, since, you know, I kind of committed to long term missions. Ten weeks is nothing. Sad part: no texting for 2 1/2 months.... *sigh*....

The snow this weekend was INSANE. I didn't know it was coming until the night before, and I didn't think it would be bad. Then, at 11:45 on Friday, they shut down classes, and they never do that. Michelle, Laura, Brit, and I had already planned to stay at Michelle's sister's house for the weekend to house-sit, but we weren't planning on going down right after lunch. It was even dangerous then and we were slipping and sliding on the road. Unfortunately, Molly, Lyssie, Lisa, Kait, and Amy had decided to "beat the snow" to Walmart, not thinking about coming back up. So they got snowed in with us Friday night :) We played games, watched Friends, ate lots of homemade food, and took the dog out to pee far too many times. Here was my favorite picture from the weekend:

Oh dear. N'sync is telling me to find a bad boy.

Anyway, there were nine girls stuck in a three-bedroom house. Well, more like two-bedroom. And most of those girls had no jammies. Over the course of the weekend, I ate muffin, brownie, and cookie batter, as well as the baked products of that batter. I also took five videos of the hall playing Mafia... speaking of which, I was the first to die in our semester-long game. I was taken aback...apparently mafia members snuck up on me taking a walk early in the morning and beat me with shovel. Then I crawled out of the snow and died of blood loss. Now I'm depressed.

When I came back to campus, it was the most magical thing I'd ever seen. Everything was covered in ice--it was like being on another planet. Therefore, I took a ridiculous amount of pictures. Like this one:

Oh man, now it's a Boys II Men song. BAHAHAHA. No, Boys II Men, I will not give you another chance. Now, stop whining at me. *changes song* Mmmm...Josh Groban. He has inspired me to find a man who can sing.

So, I thought that I would share about the goings-on of my CHOW class. I feel that A) I cannot pay attention because it's right after lunch. B) I cannot pay attention because I often haven't done the readings (I do those before the test...). C) That Covenant picked the strangest bunch to be in that class with me. Because of these factors, I often write myself notes in that class (sign of desperation). Those notes are about the people I observe in that class. I will describe a few to you:
  1. Red-head girl. I often become mesmerized by her hair. Not because it is red, but because she does crazy things with it. For example, one time she had three huge clips holding it up in the back. Not one, but three. I did that for wacky hair day back in high school.
  2. Chavante boy. He's black, and he's the one that wore a Chavante jacket to class one day. He's just really funny. He's also the one with the puppy folder. And he wore a pink shirt to class today. Does this say something about his character? I hope not.
  3. DREAMSTREET! No, they aren't in my class. They came onto my shuffle. Anyway...
  4. Douchy. No, that is not his real name, but that is what I call him. Every time this boy walks into class, I want to hit him. He's a basketball player, but not a nice one. He's the one who chews his nails and spits them on the floor. And does other homework in the class. And always has an open mouth, like a fish. Today, he came into class wearing all black, baggy clothes. I wrote to myself "Douchy is dressed like a Death Eater today!"
  5. Tall blonde boy with earrings in both ears. Umm....
  6. Sunglasses boy. This is the guy who sits in the front row with a pair of sunglasses on the BACK of his head. And I would accept this in normal context, but not when the glasses are LOOKING at me. Today, he was wearing a backwards camo hat under the sunglasses, so I had the impression that a cool, redneck duck was staring at me the entire class. After a while, it started talking. It was saying, "Hey baby, you wanna go on a date?" Every once in a while, it asked redhead girl, but only to spite me. I would've taken a picture, but then everybody might've thought I was crazy....
Tonight, Christina and I tried to "study" together for Tech for Educators. This involved two hours of facebook, youtube, and pizza bagels. I cannot study with that girl.

We watched the 6th Harry Potter last night. Lisa and I were both wearing our snuggies (she still hates the name "Shania" and I don't care) and she was literally quoting the movie. The only movie I can really quote is Lion King, and it's been out forever. My roommate has fierce talent. And looks hilarious when she's flapping her snuggie around.

My regular babysitting job is real great. Well, as far as I can tell after three times. Leila (yeah, now I actually know how to spell it) is ten and Anna is six. Last time, we spent the first ten minutes running around the house. I was wearing a royal robe (also known as Anna's Hello Kitty blanket) and they were trying to steal it. They succeeded. They also stole my royal babies and royal pink monkey. I used a Russian accent when helping Leila practice her Russian folk song on the piano and I had her laughing so hard I thought she would pee all over the piano bench. Anna tried to wash Max the cat with a bar of soap. Then we painted nails and watched Spongebob. Last week, we went to the playground, where I ran back and forth with the children, going from "ship" to "ship" and landing on several exotic islands, such as Kookamunga, where everything is made of bubblegum.

Whoa. Lisa just showed me an insane music video. And then we looked up the college pranks. Apparently, a few years ago, First Belz was flooded with chickens right before finals. HILARIOUS. Lisa has also been showing Alyssa and me food porn. This involves pictures of baked goods that are so heavenly they actually have me lusting. For shame, Lisa.

I knitted a scarf for my mom and I'm excited about seeing her this weekend. And watching Dear John. And eating brownie batter, again.

So I actually did have time to blog recently, but I occupied it with other writings. See, I started a book back in ninth grade. I finished it, but was unsatisfied. So last year, I tried to fix it and got a lot of work done. THEN my computer crashed. I was real depressed for a couple months, but I've finally decided to just rewrite it altogether. In the last week, I've redone the first two chapters, and this time it'll be a lot easier to actually finish because I have the plot setup done.

And now I will go off and judge myself for being a nerd.

My clean clothes have been sitting here for over 24 hours. Why? Because I'm lazy.

Song of the day: Rehab by Ke$ha because Lisa is constantly getting it stuck in my head.
